The right print method starts with the right product.
ThreadKing uses professional print methods to create bold, clean and durable clothing across original designs, custom clothing and selected business products.
The most suitable method depends on the garment, fabric, colour, artwork, quantity and available fulfilment options.
- Method checked against the garment
- Artwork suitability considered
- Finish explained before production

There is no single best method for every design.
ThreadKing products are made to order through trusted print and fulfilment partners. The production route may vary depending on the product, garment colour, fabric, artwork and available supplier options.
DTF / DTFlex-style printing is commonly used where suitable because it can deliver strong colour, sharp detail and a clean modern finish across a wide range of clothing.
Other methods, including DTG and selected embroidery, may be available where the garment, design and fulfilment route support them.
Different methods create different results.
Neither option is automatically better. The right choice depends on the design, garment and finish you want.
DTF / DTFlex-Style Printing
A transfer-based method commonly used for many ThreadKing products where suitable. It can produce bold colour, defined detail and a durable finish across a wide range of garments.
DTG Printing
DTG means direct-to-garment. Ink is printed into the garment fibres, which can create a softer feel and a more natural appearance on selected suitable garments.
DTF / DTFlex-style printing usually gives a sharper, brighter and more defined finish. DTG usually gives a softer feel with a more natural or slightly vintage-style appearance.
The artwork is only one part of the decision.
Garment & Fabric
Fabric composition, texture and garment construction can affect which method is suitable and how the print feels.
Garment Colour
Light and dark garments can require different production approaches and may change how colours appear.
Artwork Style
Fine detail, gradients, large colour areas, transparency and line weight can all affect the likely result.
Print Size & Placement
Large prints, small chest details, sleeves and unusual placements may have different production limits.
Quantity & Availability
Product availability, size, colour and fulfilment route can affect which methods are possible.
Preferred Finish
Bold and defined, soft and natural, or stitched and textured are different creative outcomes.
Printing is not the only possible finish.
Selected custom clothing and business requests may support other production methods where the design and garment are suitable.
Embroidery
Best suited to selected logos, names and simpler artwork on garments that support stitching.
Alternative Print Routes
Another print method may be suggested where the standard option is not suitable or available.
Checked Before Confirmation
Availability, limitations and likely finish are reviewed before a custom or business order is confirmed.
Ask before placing the order.
DTG may be available by request on selected products, but it is not guaranteed.
Contact ThreadKing before ordering so the chosen product, colour, size, fabric, design and available fulfilment options can be checked.
Where DTG is not suitable or available, ThreadKing may recommend the standard print method or another practical option.
A different method can create a different-looking product.
When DTG or another method is requested instead of the standard production route, the finished product may look or feel different from the product images shown on the ThreadKing website.
- A softer print feel
- Less bold colour
- A more natural or vintage-style finish
- Differences in print texture
- Different results on light and dark garments
- Differences caused by fabric and garment construction
Small differences in colour, texture, placement, alignment and finish can occur with made-to-order printed clothing. These are normal production tolerances unless an item is clearly faulty, damaged, incorrect or incorrectly produced.
